Enhancing the skills of middle school students with "untapped potential" through business fundamentals and gamification.

The FLEA Advantage is an after-school program that transforms middle school students with untapped potential into future leaders. Through gamification, students learn business fundamentals, create a business plan, raise virtual funds, and manage their business—earning up to $500 each based on their performance. By the time they reach high school, these students will understand the value of good grades and actively pursue excellence in math, English, and problem-solving.

Our Approach

Gamification involves integrating game-like elements such as point scoring, competition, and structured rules into various activities to boost engagement. It aims to make challenging tasks enjoyable. At FLEA, we take complex activities that typically require years of experience and guide our students through them over several months. We call this approach FLEA, and we guarantee that each student will undergo a transformative learning experience—while having fun.

Our Why

When we change the trajectory of these students, they embark on a path toward higher-than-average household income, above-average net worth, elevated IQ relative to their education level, zero risk of imprisonment, and health outcomes on par with the average American.

This transformation benefits America: increased tax revenue and societal contributions, no prison system expenses for this group, and the advantage of unsubsidized healthcare costs—reducing the burden on government funds and stabilizing rising healthcare premiums.

Why Middle School

At 13, a child's learning capacity is significantly boosted by their advancing cognitive abilities, improved memory and processing skills, increasing metacognitive awareness, and enhanced language, communication, emotional, and social intelligence. These developments make this a pivotal time for academic and personal growth, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. In essence, the year before high school is the ideal moment to capitalize on these strengths.
